There has definitely been a winter chill in the air over the last few days; but that has not deterred many of you at all. It has been great to see so many of you extending summer into October and getting out on the fairways.
With winter in mind can we take this opportunity to thank all of the members who have supported the club competitions and played in club teams this year and don't forget to grab your winter fixture list from the shop next time you are at the club.
Reminder…
The first tee time of the day is now 7.25am. Please be aware that due to light constraints in the morning the green keepers can not get out on the course until 7am and they have right of way at all times; remember they are there to prepare the course for you so please allow them the time and space to do this. If we could also ask you to play the course in the correct way, and by this I mean playing it from 1st to 18th and not jump between holes. Doing this might be convenient to you, but it makes the greenkeepers jobs extra hard when they cannot predict what parts of the course are getting used. Your co-operation is much appreciated.
Upcoming course works
Sean has been busy planning his winter programme of course maintenance with his team of green keepers and this is what he has planned:
- Re-Shaping of the fairway bunkers on the 10th hole - New bunker left of the green on 11th hole - Re-Shaping of bunker left of 15th green - Rebuilding white tee on 16th hole - Rebuild of yellow and red tees on 17th hole
You should see the works starting in the next 4 weeks with favourable weather conditions; we will aim to keep disruption to a minimum and please be aware there will be some heavy machinery around the course during this time.

Motocaddy S7 Draw
The draw for the Motocaddy S7 remote control trolley is filling fast but there are a few squares still available. Remember the squares are just £10 each and if your number is drawn out you win the Motocaddy S7 remote control trolley worth £799. Sounds like a good deal if you ask me!! Ask in the pro shop for more details, the draw will be made once all the squares are filled.
Lytham Green Drive Members Away Day
Last week saw 20 of our members make the short trip down to Lytham Green Drive Golf Club for a member's away day. Tough conditions greeted them with the wind up but the course in great condition.
There were some great scores given the conditions but Mick Turner managed to fight off the rest of the pack with a score of 36 points with Stephen Duckett in 2nd and Laurie Bradbury in third. Well done all who braved the conditions and if anyone has any suggestions on our next away day please come and see us with your ideas.
A special mention to Steve Whittaker who got the only '2' of the day. His tee shot on the par 3 can be seen in the picture below.
The ball alongside is the shop's very own Matt Mustow, feel free to ask him how he managed to miss his putt next time you see him!!
