Captain's Day 2015 - Saturday 13th June 

What a great day for all the members who took part in the Captain's Day this year. Chris and Dana put on a great day for everyone, plying everyone with food and drink out on the course, even if some player's did blame being slightly the worse for wear for their bad scores. 

A big thanks also to Srixon for sponsoring the event and ensuring every member walked away with their choice of Srixon balls to use during their rounds.

Winner: D O'Connell - 41 points 
Runner Up: P Jeffrey - 40 points (acpo)

Congratulations to Danny O'Connell on winning his first trophy of the season with 41 points, the 2 handicapper had an unbelievable round containing 2 eagles, 2 birdies and 2 doubles for an eventual gross 69. 

Well done to Paul Jeffrey who got pipped by just 1 point and who finished ahead of the inform Andy Newell by virtue of a better back nine. Jeff Park continued his consistent recent form with a steady 4th place finish with 38 points. Well done to all!! 

Also again well done to Chris and Dana on putting on a brilliant day and raising a further £230+ for their chosen charities.

Hole in One ALERT! - Another one at Herons! 

That is 5 in the last 7 weeks, surely a record?!! 

Mark Eva recorded his first ever hole-in-one during the mid-week Wednesday stable ford on the 169th Par 3 12th at Herons. The 20 handicapper has been playing some great golf after his first ever golf lesson with resident golf professional Sam Mellor just 6 weeks ago. The stable ford five pointer on the 12th was a great surprise to Mark who hadn't played his best golf on the day but welcomed the ace nicely! It comes exactly 4 weeks after he won the mid week stable ford by a huge four shots. Congratulations Mark keep up the excellent work! Still waiting for our pints though!

With the 'Big One' just 3 weeks away we thought we would remind everyone of a few rules regarding the day: 

- To be eligible to win prizes you must have at least 5 competition cards (not inc NR's) from the 1st January 2015. 
- There are 5 single competitions available to play between now and then for people who need to get cards in. 
- 5 day and Herons' Club members are eligible to play and there is a supplement of £10 per day for 5 day members and £10 per day for Herons' Club members or you can use your points. 
- Players must be available to play between 7am and 12pm on Sunday, the days play will be based on the previous day's scores.

The tee sheet for 5 day members is open from Saturday 27th June and for Herons' Club members from Tuesday 30th June.
