First of all, just a reminder of our Captains' Farewell Competition, which will take place this Saturday 28th March. The format is Stableford and the presentation will follow with complimentary nibbles for all of the competition participants. Presentation and Captaincy term changes will commence at approximately 4pm.

A familiar face returns..

As some of you may already have seen a new friendly (and familiar to some) face behind the counter. Sam Mellor has returned to Herons' Reach Golf Resort from working as Assistant PGA Professional at the busy Trafford Golf Centre in Manchester. Sam will be taking on a teaching role alongside Alistair Taylor here at Herons Reach Golf Resort. Sam turned professional back in 2012 and began coaching juniors, beginners and corporate clients in Manchester and is very much looking forward to helping golfers improve their game around the Fylde Coast.

Masters Competition

With Masters Sunday just over two weeks away we will once again be running our hugely popular Master Sunday member's competition. We have run this competition over the last few years and it has been a great format that everyone has enjoyed. 

Before your round you will draw a random player who has made the cut in the final round of the Masters. We will then add your Stableford competition score to the player's Sunday Masters final round score and come up with a cumulative Stableford score. 

For example: 

You score 40 points and you choose at random Tiger Woods who shoots 72 (36 points) your score would be 76 points. 

It's a great competition and gives an already exciting major final round an extra edge while watching it. 

We have reserved some members' times from 14.37 to 16.05. Should you wish to book in please call the shop on 01253 832505 to reserve your tee time. 

Once you have completed your round we will all meet in the Victory bar and watch the final round of the Masters unfold.

You may have read in last week's newsletter that anyone who paid for their annual locker rental before Monday had the chance to win their locker rental free for the year. Well the draw has been made by our Head Teaching Professional Ali Taylor and the lucky winner is…..… Pete Lord.

If anyone is looking for a locker there are a few that have now become available please call in the shop as soon as possible to reserve yours for the year at the low cost of just £40.

Summer is here! 

Please remember that the clocks go forward this Sunday morning at 2am. This means lighter evenings for us all to enjoy more golf. If you have a tee time booked on Sunday…don't be late! For all Herons' Club members, please remember that the twilight times go back to 3pm from Wednesday 1st April.
