Are you a stats golfer?
What do stats tell you, and how can you use them in a positive way to help you improve your game? Most golfers are aware of the usual ones, fairways hit, greens hit, putts, and distances tour players hit their clubs. Do you know these for your game? What's good and what's not? Well, if you hit 10 out of 14 fairways on average you have no problems off the tee, 7 or less means this is an area you can/need to improve on.
If you hit 12 out of 18 greens, again, this does not raise concern, 6 out of 18 does but this is subject to your handicap. Make sure you use you shots to compensate so if you are off 18 and you hit a par 5 green in 4 you could justify that as a green in regulation. The amount of putts you take is linked to how many greens you hit. The more greens you hit the more putts you will generally have. 36 is regarded as the target to beat. So when working out the areas you are weak in you need to know why? So do you miss it left a lot for example off the tee? Are you short of the green too often? Do you struggle with distance control with your putts? This is where we can help you. If you wish to improve then book a lesson and see how we can get you to where you want to be with your game. The distances you hit the ball can be worked out by doing a gap session. Did you know that most golfers do not know accurately how far they hit the ball!
