We are now operating the rule that *No Trollies* will be allowed on the course without them. So if you do not have them then speak to us about getting them or renting trollies with them on.

Another Successful Fitting Day

We had a very successful TaylorMade fitting day on the 16th October and again the use of incorrect club specs was highlighted. It really is important that you are using the right shafts, Lie and Grip thickness regardless of what clubhead design to give yourself a fighting chance of making progress.

We would urge every golfer to have a fitting before purchasing any club. You may not think it will make much difference but the service is FREE so why not do it and see?

Winter League

This year's winter league will run from Saturday 2nd November until Saturday 21st March 2020 with your best 6 individual Stableford scores to count. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall which will be subsidised by the men’s fund.

These scores will be generated through entry of the usual Wednesday and Saturday competitions, with a league table generated once a month.

This year there will be a Winter handicap system in place. This will run alongside your current CONGU handicap. There will be deductions for the top 3 places. The deductions will be as follows;

1st Place - 0.5
2nd Place - 0.3
3rd Place - 0.2

Once the Winter competitions are over then your handicap will revert back to your original CONGU handicap.

Don't pack the clubs away yet

Who had a pair of these?

I'm sure the shoes below will make a lot of you smile. It's been a long time since golf shoes looked like the first image and it's safe to say that comfort, style and traction have all come a long way since then - even if some of us think the overlapping tongues looked great!

Old style shoes

It wasn't just the daring uppers and striking tongue that defined golf shoes from yesteryear; flip the shoes upside down and the hard leather outsole featured single metal spikes that resembled weapons more so than traction pods.

Modern golf shoes

Spotlight | TaylorMade P790 irons

When TaylorMade launched its original P790 irons back in 2017, it's safe to say they went down a storm with golfers across the country.
