Greetings golfers,
We hope everyone is safe and well after the bonfire night celebrations this week, you may have noticed the nod to bonfire night in the title of this week's newsletter (clever I know!!) but I thought it was appropriate considering Steve O'Keeffe and Dave Neville's fast start to this year's Winter League season. More below…
Winter Trolley rules
With the forecast set to turn a bit nasty over the coming days and the buggies being put in to hibernation for the winter, please be aware that it may be any day now that we will switch to our winter trolley policy; please call ahead and check to avoid any disappointment. If you are unsure of our winter trolley policy then please see a member of staff as soon as possible.
Winter League - Week 3 report
So here are the Winter League standings as of week 3
Another week, another unbelievable score. This time it's Steve O' Keeffe and Dave Neville's turn to get in on the act with an incredible score of 47 points; closely followed by Steve Lynn and Matt Mustow following their previous weeks win with 45 points but only good enough for 2nd place this time around. Chris Prewett and Pedro Camargo continue their steady start to the Winter League campaign and currently occupy 2nd place in the table behind Steve and Dave.
The new format is being warmly received by all and as people jostle for position, the coming weeks will be interesting as everyone starts to play a similar number of games and people have their 'free week', will it be slow and steady win the race? Only time will tell.
Can we remind all player's that if you cannot make your fixture to not only inform the shop and cross your name off the fixture list but please inform your opponents for that week as well.

Winter Competition News
As we unfortunately but inevitably slip into winter competition golf (it has been one of the more prolonged golf seasons in memory however) the Men's committee would like to remind everyone of how our winter competitions will be processed and monies distributed:
1. Singles winter competitions played on Saturday and Wednesday are to be played off a full playing handicap, restricted to a maximum handicap allowance of 24.
2. We accept that fewer players support winter golf competitions and with this in mind there will be 2 divisions whenever there are 20 or more entrants (in summer we require 30 entrants to go to 2 divisions).
3. Until March 2015 whenever there are less than 30 entrants no monies will go into the Men's Section fund and all monies will be paid out in prizes.

P Audis & P A-Riddell 40 Points
