GameBook sponsored member's competition - Sunday 7th September - NEW DATE ADDED!

You may remember some weeks ago I told you about a meeting with the makers of a revolutionary new way to score your rounds of golf. We have been introducing this to the members over the last week and some of you may have noticed the iPad on the counter in the shop with a weekly leader board.

Anyone who downloads the 'Golf GameBook' app (available to download for free on both iPhone and Android), sets 'DeVere Heron's Reach' as your home club and scores a round using GameBook can be entered into a draw to win a free overnight stay for 2 with 2 rounds of golf at one of our DeVere venues.

Hopefully over the coming weeks we will see your name on the leader board.

This competition will be run every week for 4 weeks and week 1's winner was Adam Prance. Adam you have now been entered into the draw along with the winners from all the other resorts and GameBook will be in touch if you are successful. Good luck!!

In addition the guys from GameBook have very kindly sponsored the new competition added on Sunday 7th September.

Anyone playing in the competition will be asked to score the competition using the GameBook app and we will have a full live leader board on the screen in the victory pub for the prize giving presentation afterwards. I recommend everyone playing (or at least 1 member of your team) downloads the app and plays at least 9 holes using GameBook before the competition.

I will set up the competition and send out the competition code in the newsletter the week before the competition so everyone can join in good time.

In addition there will be pre golf refreshments provided courtesy of GameBook for anyone who shows me that they have downloaded the app and set us as their home course. And don't forget the men's fund is very kindly putting on food for everyone in the victory pub before the prize presentation.

Anyone wanting to enter the competition needs to put their names down in the golf shop before 7pm Thursday 5th September.

Tee time: Shot gun start @ 9am

The Ladies Make the Grand Final!!

Congratulations to our Ladies Handicap team who have won their league and have now defeated Stanley Park and Royal Lytham on neutral courses to reach the final of the Lancashire Ladies County Golf Association at Davyhulme Park Golf Club. Here they will contest the overall Lancashire Ladies Handicap Shield.

Captain Yvonne, her team and caddies have again added to the fantastic season our men and ladies are having representing our club this season.

Good luck to them in the final on 9th September.

Carden Park - Members Reciprocal benefit - IMPORTANT CHANGES

As of Wednesday 1st October Carden Park will no longer be operated by De Vere Hotels. Subsequently any De Vere Club points will not be able to be utilised on either the Nicklaus or Cheshire courses after 30th September 2014.

Any full member reciprocal rights at Carden Park will also no longer be valid.
