Men's Handicap Team
We are delighted to announce that our Handicap Team just last night won our first ever Cockerill Cup! This is a knockout format played over 2 legs against clubs from around the Fylde. The final was contested between arguably the best teams in the league this year, judging by their league positions (see below). Fairhaven are a great side and it was a great display on the 1st away leg as they managed a massive 4-1 win. Last night, they just needed 2 wins from the 5 games to secure the trophy, and after a fast start by our team, the realism of winning the cup started to sink in, and we had a little wobble through the middle of the course. But the lads duly rallied and finished strongly to get the 2 wins needed in the first 3 games out on the course. This brought celebration to the club and as you can see by the picture, it was a jubilant moment! Congratulations to Captain Peter Morgan and all of the members who played a part in winning this trophy.

Under the stewardship of Handicap team Captain Peter Morgan and his Vice Captain Ian Bullock the team have been something of a 'phoenix rising from the ashes' after a disappointing year in 2013. A more settled team, a great work ethic and on some very late Tuesday nights out on the course; the grit and determination to just win saw the team finish in the runners up spot behind Fairhaven.
The team actually only suffered 1 defeat all season, a 3.5 points to 1.5 points defeat away at Fleetwood but some close calls in the middle part of the season just let Fairhaven's lead get too much in the last week of games and a draw away at Knott End for Fairhaven was enough to clinch the league title.
It was a close run thing going down to the final week of matches but Fairhaven just had enough in the bank to pip Herons' Reach by 4 points. Congratulations to Fairhaven from everyone at Herons' Reach and well done to Pete and all the players who have played this year on a fantastic league campaign in 2014.

PING G30
Now in the shop is the long awaited PING G30 range! The PING 'G' range is the highest selling PING range on the market and it's easy to see why due to the forgiveness and distance offered.
Woods - The new crown 'turbulators' give even more club head speed than the previous G25 range and with two degrees of changeable loft on the drivers, there is a fitting to suit you in all!
Irons - The centre of gravity has been lowered and put further back, making it easier to get the ball launched and resulting in a higher trajectory. Because of this, PING has been able to slightly de-loft the irons, resulting in further yardages for you, without the shot trajectory being changed.

Hopefully you have all had chance to try the new online booking at www.deveregolf.co.uk/memberships and we have certainly started to see a few members taking advantage on our booking screen. Anyone who hasn't signed up yet please follow the link above and sign up. It is also on the member's board situated outside the golf shop.

Rules - online booking:
11 day booking window
Any DVC member booking more than one person on their membership and arriving with less than booked; this cannot be rectified at check in and points will be lost
Any full member booking more than one person will be expected to fill the slots they have booked; if they do not and slots on tee times are wasted a 3 strikes policy is in place and your booking privileges' (online and otherwise) will be suspended/ revoked (this will be the sole responsibility of the person who booked the tee time originally)
If you need to cancel please use the cancel button in the 'My Account' area that lists all the bookings you have made.
Please note: if a tee time is offering 1 player, 1 or 2 players or 1 to 3 players there is already a player or players booked on that tee time and you will only be allowed to book the maximum amount of player slots available (max 4 players per tee time)
