Tommy is the man in Abu Dhabi and is 58 the new 59? 

Firstly let's start on the European Tour and it's congratulations to Southport man Tommy Fleetwood who managed to hold off the big hitting American Dustin Johnson in Abu Dhabi to take his second European Tour title. And over on the PGA tour is 58 the new 59? Adam Hadwin shot a proper 59 at the CareerBuilder Challenge and by proper 59 I mean he did it on a par 72 meaning he was 13 under par for one round of golf! Astonishing stuff. And that came quick on the heels of Justin Thomas doing it in Hawaii just a couple of weeks ago. 

Maybe 58 is the new 59? 

Only one player has shot 58 in over 1.5 million rounds of PGA tour history. Can anyone name him? First person to reply with the correct answer will win a sleeve of balls.

New Year, New Shoe? 

The first sprinkling of 2017 Nike Golf shoes arrived this week and I have got to say they look superb. 

I am particularly impressed with the new Nike Lunar Fire which is almost a throwback in looks to the popular TW line from a few years ago, and at under a £100 they are not going to break the bank either. 

The new Lunar Command this year also comes with BOA lacing technology and is rumoured to be the shoe that Nike athlete Paul Casey will be walking the fairways in this year. Sound great don't they?

Winter League Update 

With February fast approaching and double points on offer, everyone below has qualified and is eligible for 'Fedex February'.  

If your name is not on the list (click here to view) you haven't yet got five cards in during the winter period; but worry not for all those with only 4 cards in. You have 1 more chance this week with the competition on Wednesday. 

We expect there to be a constant ebb and flow throughout February as people try and grab a semi-final spot. As ever we will keep you updated on the member's boards and of course here in the newsletter.
