Greetings golfers, 

Another big week around the golfing world with Rory McIlroy getting back to winning ways in America and Alex Noren continuing his fantastic 2016 season with a playoff win at the unbelievable Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club to take the European Masters. For those of you who have not seen Crans-sur-Sierre you really need to go and watch some highlights from last week, the golf course is set in the Alps and is a ski resort 6 months of the year. One of the members tells me you can actually book golf breaks there through golfbreaks.com as well, might be worth checking out for you next annual golf trip.

Herons' Reach Trophy 

But enough about those lesser tournaments; what about the biggest tournament of the week The Herons' Reach Trophy? 

Played in some of the wettest conditions we have seen all year; we had a lot of hearty souls who braved the inclement conditions to shoot some pretty impressive scores. 

Steve Norwood and Jed Starkey set the early pace with a betterball score of 46 points; they had the best of the conditions teeing off early at 7.30am so missing quite a lot of the worse weather. That score managed to stand up all day with Justin Hatcher and Steve Lynn pushing them close with 45 points and Steve O'Keeffe and the returning from sabbatical Ian Bullock took third place with 43 points. 

Well done to Steve and Jed firstly but everyone who went out in those conditions deserves a medal in my book. Please click here for the full result.

Ross Bain Trophy - Midweek Majors 

Wednesday 14th September is the date for the one and only midweek major of the season. Tee time booking is now open to all membership categories and there is still plenty of tee times available for another shot at glory and get your name up in lights and etched in Herons' Reach history. 

The Ross Bain is always a well-supported competition by all members so there will be plenty of prize money on offer.

New Nike and Under Armour Autumn/ Winter collection now available in store! 

The fantastic new collections from Nike and Under Armour have landed and been unpacked by myself and Jake and it looks fantastic. Nike has brought new colours in to there 'blade collar' polo collection as worn by Rory McIlroy. 

And Under Armour have picked up where they left off with their Spring/ Summer collection but with some softer colours to give you the best look out on the course during winter.
