This week saw Past Captain's Steve and Sue present the money they had raised this last year to the Trinity Hospice. Last week they visited the Hospice and presented the cheque and were shown some of the equipment that their money has helped to buy.
The money has so far bought an exercise bike for the patients to use, a new hoist has just been ordered and the remainder of the money will go towards the development of the gardens in the Day Therapy Unit.
Well done to both Steve and Sue from everyone at Herons' Reach on a fantastic and humbling achievement!!
It's now 1 month since I took over the mantle of Captain from Steve O'Keeffe. I know everyone appreciates the excellent contribution made by Steve and the effort and enthusiasm he put into his year of office. Well done Steve you were a credit to Herons Reach as well as the Trinity Hospice Charity you supported. Now it's my turn supported by Lady Captain Gail Neville for our year of office.
Our Charity is to raise money for Blackpool's Young Carers. The money raised will be used to provide respite for children who have to cope with a difficult home life. Our first event will be the Charity Golf day on 3rd July where there will be a 4 man team event as well as prizes for nearest the pin and longest drives etc. Tee times are available for members and guests at a cost of £5 per member and £20 per guest (all money going to the Charity) and can be booked in the shop or through myself on 07808 092948.
This will be followed the next day Friday 4th July with a Charity Ball where we have a 3 course meal with entertainment from an Ollie Murs tribute act and a DJ. The cost is £20 per person (members and guests). Again please speak to the golf shop or contact me direct.
I hope that you will support Lady Captain and me at both events!
For those who are joining me on my Captains away trip on 24/25 August more information will follow nearer the time.
